I finally met up with my mom and sister! It was my first out of two times I would be going to Buenos Aires. Neither of them are city people so we spent more time drinking wine in our hotel room. The first day they were both tired from the long flights but we walked around the city a little. We went to the Recoleta Cemetery, 4,691 vaults including one with Eva Peron.
They didn’t last long and we just ended up in what my mother repeatedly referred to as “heaven”.
Also we found these statues.
Day 2:
We went shopping in the stores in the morning but it was hard core pouring so that ended quickly. We had a bus tour in the afternoon. We saw the Pink Palace (parliament building) and surrounding historic area.
It was still raining during the tour so it was a little rough.
Our last stop was in Boca, famous for it’s soccer team and colorful tango streets.
After the tour Chelsea and I went to get those famous Argentinian steaks. $12 for a great hunk of meat bigger than my head.
On some other notes:
As you can see IT IS COLD. It’s not freezing but it’s decently chilly. It felt more like fall, which I love, but the rain made it more like winter.
Most of the people spoke minor English and we speak minor Spanish, so we got by without much of a problem.
We stayed in a really nice hotel in Recoleta part of the city. View to the right…
And continental room service breakfast.
Now here we come Iguazu!
